National Grade 4 gymnasts made history!

Wetherby’s national grade 4 gymnasts started the day on bars and became the first ever Wetherby gymnasts to compete on shiny metal bar. All the girls performed bars with less than 1.00 in deductions too!

Yorkshire Level 6 Team Championships

The seniors started the last competition of 2014 in style placing 4th overall .

Individually they achieved:

Emily F placed 7th on beam and performed her first roundoff flick.

Ruby placed 4th on floor in her very first gymnastics competition.

Nadine placed 6th on floor.

Emily W placed 8th on floor.

 

Even though the girls train in 3 different groups the team were positive, supportive and enjoyed the experience together.

 

 

 

The level 6 junior team faced stiff opposition to place 11th out of 20 teams.

Considering the age and experience of the team the coaching team were pleased with the result.

 

All team members performed roundoff flicks and squat on high bar routines successful in competition.

 

 

 

British Championships – Voluntary Level 2

Yorkshire ind 2014 level 2At the end of September Louise Akers competed in the Yorkshire Individual championships. Following strong performances on all apparatus she became the Yorkshire In-Age level 2 champion. 
Louise worked hard over the next 4 weeks, testing her progress at the Alpha Factor invitational.
The ultimate test came on the 1st November in Guildford. The British championships for 11 year olds.
Louise performed her sky high piked Tsuki to place her in the top 8 vaulters in the country for her age group.                                          
Performing on all apparatus without a fall to achieve an overall ranking in the top 30 eleven year olds in Great Britain.
